MVC with Entrapment

Around 3:45am on Sunday Morning, Good Will and Delaware City, along with an ambulance from Wilmington Manor Fire Company and paramedics from New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched to River Road (Route 9) and Hamburg Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment. Squad 18 and Chief 18 responded. While responding, first arriving police officers reported two patients trapped in two separate vehicles. An additional staffed rescue was requested by Chief 18. Upon arrival, the crew began extrication on the heavily trapped patient. Rescue Engine 15 arrived and began extrication on the second vehicle. Ladder 12 arrived and split and assisted with extrication on both vehicles. Overall, three patients were transported to area trauma centers. River Road was closed in both directions during and shortly after the incident.

Units operating included Squad 18, Chief 18, Ambulances 15, 28, 6, Medics 2 and 6, ALS 22 and 18, Rescue Engine 15, and Ladder 12.
